The entire experience with the crew of the Black Dagger lasts about an hour and a half. The first fifteen minutes is spent on the dock getting the little pirates ready and teaching them how to talk like a real pirate crew. Once the crew is ready we board the ship and head out on the Calibogue Sound for about an hour and 15 minutes.
We suggest you prepare for the weather, if the sun is out load up on sunblock and bring some water. If it's cloudy consider a light rain jacket, we will still sail in a light drizzle, we're pirates after all.
The waters we ply are protected and usually very calm, sea sickness is normally not an issue.
Every little pirate needs to know how to speak like a real buccaneer. Each trip starts off with a little lesson in pirate lingo sure to bring out the salty side of our new crew members. The most important thing for any aspiring pirate to know is that we shout pretty much everything! Those who can't turn up the volume are sure to be at the butt end of some very despariging remarks, be prepared to be insulted with lowest, most terrible of pirate nicknames, such as, Mermaid or Guppies!
Some words you may want to brush up on in advance of your pirate cruise....
AHOY- Pirate for hello or I see something.
AYE, AYE- Pirate for yes, Sir.
ARRGHH!- Always said with extreme emphasis, this is the one word a pirate simply can't do without.
